Hello.
I have bought a 2001 Burstner Ventana 400 TS which is on a site in France. In order to move it I will need to put some decent tyres on it.
My plan is to source some wheels and tyres in the UK and take them to France with me to slot straight on without faffing around over there. I thought to bring the tyre size back to the UK with me but took no note of whether the wheel was 4 or 5 stud.
Can anyone help me with what size/spec wheel I need please?

The van in the video is larger than mine - is there a chance that my smaller van will have 4 stud or do you think Burstner standardised on 5?

Hello Shoota,

Whilst anyone offering advice on wheels size and stud variation may be doing so with the best of intentions, but unless they have exactly the same model, or information relating to it, then you cannot take their suggestions as 100% accurate.

The best thing is to actually check the wheels you have, or to contact the manufacture and give them the full caravan identity and ask then what wheel size they dispatched the caravan with.

I have just this second finished emailing Burstner. I was hoping someone would have the same model of caravan as mine is in France and I am in the UK.....

I would be very surprised if the wheels on your caravan varied from that shown but on reflection there is a small chance of this.

I borrowed your idea of looking on Youtube Ray (good thinking!) and found a vid that shows the 400 series. Your vid shows the 490 which is larger.
It would appear that the 400 series has four stud wheels. Do you think they are 5.5inch?
The man at Burstner that my email was directed to is off on holiday until 2 days before I return to France...

If you know the tyre size you need might it not be a better idea to take two tyres with you and get them fitted in France. Even if you knew the wheel diameter, and the PCD, you still couldn't be sure that the offset would be correct.

I would support the idea of taking the tyres and getting them fitted in France. Having had my one and only caravan burst tyre ( on a Burstner) in France I found replacement tyres there very expensive compared to what i could have got in UK. I also found the caravan had been fitted with unidirectional tyres from new, giving the spare a 50/50 chance of having the wrong rotation - you've guessed the answer. So check your choice of new tyre is bi directional particularly if you are thinking of getting a spare in due course.

I don't know how common this practice is. My Burstner was an end of series model with various anomalies including the safety instructions inside the wardrobe door being in Danish, assorted keys for the lockers etc. presumably what they had left in the bins. But a strong and comfortable van in which we spent around 600 nights away.

4 ½ J x 13 4 stud an the distance between are 100 mm!'
