How long does it normally take for the 2nd hand vans to start filtering out on to the dealers forecourts from all those lucky people who have ordered a new van whilst at the caravan show? Do people wait until they have there new van delivered or do they get rid of their old vans to the dealers asap? we still haven't found a van but hope that loads of people have ordered new ones from the show allowing us more choice!!

They are mostly part ex,you take you van to exchange and pick your new one up.

The dealers advertise on their websites "due in" as they know what part ex's they have.

We bought a van at the NEC 1 Novemeber and picked our new one up in March, but the dealer had a deposit for it in December.

We bought a new one at the show for delivery in December, our part exchange caravan will be going to our dealer next week, and he is expecting others. When we bought our first ever caravan six years ago we bought it within a couple of weeks of the London show finishing.

We ordered a new van last week, not at the show, put a deposit down at same time, took our trade-in van to the dealer last saturday, and had our deposit refunded, our new van is due january. So there should be 2nd hand vans coming onto the forecourts very soon.

We bought a new van at the NEC - delivery is end November. Our old van is due to be traded in, but we have the option of selling it ourselves first, so we've put it on ebay for a week just to see if we can raise a bit more than the trade in value, which of course was low (like they always are!).

Have you tried ebay for your van, or would you prefer to wait for the dealers - we saw an identical van as ours on the forecourt of the dealers for

The usual time would be end of November onwards, nany of those vans traded in for 2010 are likely to be fairly new in themselves though so if you are after an older van thenthey'll start filtering through as people trade in for the ones coming on the forecourt in exchange for the new ones.

Make sense?

We've just put the deposit down on a Avondale Agrente 650-6, really nice clean van, the rear looks hardly used so fingers crossed we should have a nice van for a couple of years

Didnt anyone bother to part ex their vans? Bit of a risk to try and sell privatly before you take delivery of your your new van or did the dealer say try if not we will take if you dont sell?

Our dealer offered a trade in and we asked at the time that if we sold it privately, could we still buy at the same price. They told us that we could but would rather we traded in as they are short of 2nd hand vans at present. The worst bit was that we saw an identical van to ours on the forecourt at the dealer,
