when do i need a new alko stabiliser?/////

we put a reconditioned alko 1300 stabiliser on our van at easter when do i need to get it done again

I do take it you mean the pads. Under normal conditions there's never a need to replace the whole stabiliser.

There is a wear indicator on the AKS 1300, this will be difficult to explain without a diagram but I'll do my best.

If you look at the coupling from the top you will see "control" cast into the body, then on the hand wheel there's two rectangular boxes with "control" written inside them.

Wind the hand wheel up until it ratchets then line one of the boxes up with the word "control" on the coupling casing.

There should be a couple of mm spacing in between the box and the casing, if the box enters the casing then the pads need replacing.

thanks,will go and look tonight(at in laws)only started caravaning at easter so thers alot of things we still dont know but its good that we can get a wide range of opinions on here cheers
