Our Golden retriever Buddy has been on an extender all 11 years of his life.
When out walking with the lead extended he has been taught to respond to a slight tug when someone/thing is approaching and he returns to heel. No voice commands what so ever, so am I at fault for holding onto the other end"?
The person at the other end may not be in control of the dog when they should be. Unfortunately the majority have no control over their dog on an extended lead. IMHO they should be banned in towns and cities as there seem to be more irresponsible people using them than responsible people.
