We're off to the Hoburne site near Cirencester for Whit week. One thing's for sure, I'll be avoiding the M1, M25 & M4 like the plague this weekend. I'll be cutting across country, passing my all time favourite site, Lincoln farm, on the way.

We're off Saturday morning to Hurries House Farm CL, near Skipton for 4 nights. We've then got 4 nights at Whitecroft Farm CL near Whaley Bridge in the High Peak.

Hopefully, lots of walking, weather permitting, with our 2 dogs but also when we're at Whaley Bridge, we will pop over to Manchester to see our first grandson!

We are off up to Scotland on Saturday week 3rd June for a fortnight.

This will be a hectic trip this time, as my daughter and son-in-law will be coming with us.

We have booked 4 nights at Grummore CC site, 4 nights at C&CC site at Inverewe Gardens, 3 nights at Morvich CC site and finally 3 nights at C&CC site at Glencoe. We then head off home on 18th June.

I think after all that we would probably need another holiday to get over it!!:O)

Fortunately we will be going back in Aug/Sept for another three weeks rest!!!

12 year old son and myself plus dog are off to Park Coppice for the May week with a new (2nd hand) caravan, hot water and a heater, luxury after the 1983 water foot pump caravan. That is if I can find it, not very good with directions, thank god for the AA route directions. Any one else off there or been to the site?

Don't despair Denise, the weather is improving, and they will only get one or two breaks this year, whereas you can have loads.

Cheers,

Mike A

Oh, almost forgot, off to the Isle of Wight for the first time ever. Thought going on a ferry would make it seem a bit more like the main holiday.

The Old Oaks is a fab site, we had a great time there last July. The facilities are excellent, and the site is quiet with some lovely walks 'from the door'. Enjoy!

We're going to the CC site at Sandringham next Saturday for a week. Can't wait. The long range Met Office forcast suggests the weather is improving. Fingers crossed!

Jo-anne,I have about 5 years ago it is what you come to expect of CC sites lovely location surrounded by woodland ,good pitches toilets etc plenty of hard standings and manicured lawns,TV poor you need length of co axial cable to plug into bollard for boosted signal, short walk through wood takes you to the C&CC site which in my opinion is no where near as good, its also handy for the coast,Sandringam itself and Kings Lynn.

Hi Jo-Anne, we've been 3 times now - it's one of our favourite sites, particularly good for North Norfolk coast birdwatching, walking etc. The site is surrounded by woodland, good for walks/bikes, there is also a childrens play area. The facilities are the usual CC high standard - there are 2 shower blocks - so when 1 is closed for cleaning, the other is open. Some of the the pitches tend to slope a bit, side to side or front to back (if you know what I mean) so take a levelling ramp and blocks for the steadies. There are also a few grass pitches too, although most tend to opt for the hardstanding. It's a good site for just sitting by your van and 'chilling out'.Very easy access from the main road too. Maz

I'm not off anywhere....I've had to cancel my planned trip to Newark, Notts, due to some bright spark wiping my car off the road a couple of weeks ago. (He came out of a side road straight into me)

My car is in the garage being repaired leaving me with a courtesy car. A little Fiesta which is a lovely run around but no towbar and I can't take the dogs in it so I'm a bit stuck.

The garage tell me work on my own car should be complete by the middle of next week.......I'm keeping my fingers crossed as I have another break planned 8-11th June and I don't want to cancel that.

Your right Mike, the main reason for getting a van was so we could get away more. We have a school age child and two not at school and we would only have one holiday in Aug if we went abroad. We are on our second trip this year with two more booked and we may do a few weekend also. Hope you are right about the weather although at Easter the weather wasn't great and we still loved the holiday and it was our first outing. Denise
