I hope this isn't going to appear twice as I sent a similar post yesterday and it hasn't appeared!
My problem part is a strip of metal with parts for electrical crimps to be fitted. This fits on to a plastic moulding (with a number of other strips). The one needing replacement was totally rusted and was found when we tested the rear lights when due to go to a long standing retirement/birthday party (my wife is still very upset after weeks of looking forward, planning and buying new cloths!). After a day working on it I found the rusted connecter block behind the "bumper" moulding.
I trying to locate some one who stocks crimp electrical fittings that may have , what are probably, crimp fitting bus bars.
As a warning to other Dethleffs 450 caravan owners, check behind the rear left reflector and if you also have a wiring block you need to do something with it (dealer of self to water proof it!). I have contacted Dethleffs subjecting they need to do something about it but until they do (well you can be hopeful) owners need to deal with what they have, an exposed to the elements wiring block!
