Where is it summer?

We are away on Sunday heading south and hopefully sunny climes even if it is only by 2 - 3 degrees.
We're off to Scotland in a couple of weeks - so bound to get all four seasons every day!

Our son has just come back from a week in Turkey where it was 43 degrees - you couldn't pay me to endure that heat.

I used to work outside when heat was in the forties. We would start work at about 6am and work until about 11am then start again at about 3pm until about 6pm. I was as brown as a berry and blended in quite well with the locals. 🤣

We are near the Lleyn Peninsula and the drive along the A470 was a mix of showers and sun. It was nice enough to sit outside the Roadside Delight food trailer just north of Rhayader which has a large off road parking area. At present only 15 deg C but most importantly it is sunny with cracking views out to sea and across to Anglesey.

On the upside, if this continues, everyone will shove off to warmer climes next year and those of us still in Blighty can enjoy the rain in near empty sites. Glass half full and all that.

PS edit and now with a half decent sunset but not really warm enough for a sundowner outside.

At least once a year we stay at Pembridge and the take a drive to Rhayader and visit Elan Valley. Nice area.

We also going to Lake Bala in a couple of weeks probably get some sunshine

Slightly cooler today in El Jarral which is welcome as past couple of days have been quite oppressive unless you were in the shade.

Do any of you have it?

We've had a few nice days but generally it's rubbish. At times we're not even getting temperatures into double figures.

Ten days ago coming through Glen Coe and Glen Shiel the daytime temperature was 5degC.

Mrs V picked up a bug when we came back from the south....which is not untypical when we go south....and felt so miserable the other day we lit the fire.

Only upside is that the green stuff isn't growing too quickly.
Very cold and wet today. Given up loading the caravan for today.
