Hi guys, after reading a thread on draining water systems out for winter, i read some people mentioning about changing the filter on the water system before use.

Now with me not knowing when this was last changed on mine, it is something i would like to do.

BUT...where is it located? is it a nice straight easy change?

I dont know which model water system i have, but what i do know is it uses a truma ultraflow pump if that helps?

Its a 2008 Bailey ranger series 5 540/6.

thanks,H.

If you have one at all, which many vans do not, it will be either part of the water inlet, under a blue screw cap if you have the Truma Ultraflow inlet, or in the cold water pipe to the kitchen sink.

.

Mine should be fixed to the side wall of the cupboard under the sink but the previous owner removed it and substituted a piece of pipe joined with a connector at each end. I don't mind in the least not having a filter since I only use the Aquaroll for showering and washing up at the sink. Kettles are filled from a 4pt ex-milk container and drinking water from a filter jug in the fidge.

Let's try one step at a time regarding the "where is it" question
For the Truma inlet reply, on the outside of the van where you connect the water hose and pump for the aquaroll, there is a flap. Under the flap is a blue screw cap. Remove it and you should see a blue rubber disk about 2 inches dia. Pull that out as it is the end of the filter.
If yours is not this version, come back and members can try to explain other possibilities.

Thanks for replies...

I did get a few books,i will dig them.out and have a look.

Mine does not have that blue clip bit on the outside flap 100%,so has to be an internal filter?

Thanks

thanks for replies guys....

i had a look in my manuals and it did not state about if it had one or where it would be located.

it is deffo not in the inlet part (pics on a previous thread) so only option would be under the sink then i persume? if not...happy days...saved some pennies lol

If it is under the sink it will be a tubular device about 6" long and 2" diameter that you may not think is a filter. Such types are a granulated carbon device, not just a paper or mesh filter as is now often used. Many people took them out of service as they often did not drain down properly and ended up freezing and thus cracking the case if it got very cold in the winter. The first you knew of it come spring would be a pump that would not stop and a cupboard and floor standing in water.

Some modern pumps (you don't say you make/model/age of caravan) have the filter in a clear casing attached to the pump input if it is an internal pump (e.g. Whale.)

I could only see water pipes,no casing or filter style housings.
