Where to buy tyres

Hope this isn't a daft question but do you have to buy caravan tyres from a caravan dealer, or can you get them from most places that fit tyres to cars?

I've had my 10 year old van for 4 years now without changing the tyres. I inspect the inner & outer faces for cracks etc before every trip & they still look good. I will change them soon to be on the safe side though.

Hi Glen

I would never buy tyres from a car or caravan dealer - they have to buy them in from a tyre dealer and charge a huge amount more than the tyre dealer. A car dealer admitted this to me when quoting for tyres at a service.

Hi - We may be in the market for some new tyres fairly soon.I am prepared to pay whatever to get the best tyres. Is there a Rolls Royce of tyre out there? and where can I get some?

Re Caravan tyres, I went to our local tyre depot and had a great deal from them.

Very pleased with the service, they ordered in specially for me .

I know this may sound stupid and please dont take this the wrong way,do not have car tyres fitted to your van.

Why not fit car tyres as you put it. I thought that it was the wheel rims that are differentI.E. not made to cope with high cornering loads/stress and thats the reason for fitting tyron bands?
