I always wash my caravan using Fenwicks Caravan Shampoo to get the dirt and black streaks off then polish using Meguiars polish. After polishing I go over it using Meguiars wax to seal the polish coat.

I only do this twice a year, every other time I use Fenwicks shampoo followed by a rinse with Fenwicks Bobby Dazzler.

I have never polished a caravan, and they always look good. The last one was 7 years old when i sold it for a good price, my present 2004 van again looks like new.

All i use is car shampoo with added wax, and silky for the stubborn stains.

I am not anti polish, the car gets one or two coats a year, usually spring and autumn.

Save your time and money?

Hi Trevor

Over the last 20 odd years we have used Fenwicks products, There caravan cleaner and Boddy Dazzler. Also use Mr Sheen for those black streak marks. We have had no problem with these products with our caravans. Bailey, Sprit,Flurette.

Best regards Steve& Janet.

hi, i use auto glym car polish, its easy and quick to use and brings the caravan up nice. i use a small amount of t-cut on the plastic windows, polishing and buffing up and down the way instead of circles, it takes the tiny scratches out of the windows and the whole van looks like new even though its a 1981 eccles!!!

Afternoon,

To be honest i used Fenwicks shampoo cleaner then Autoglym to polish.

When i purchased my new van at the National last May they offered Supagard protection for free.

They stated that you never need polish again. Well as the van has been parked up for a few months now, when it comes to wash it with their special shampoo i will see if the blacklines etc vanishes and it has that newly purchased shine on it.

Sorry to divert of the subject :)

Rob.

i find fenwicks can be to strong if you water down to much it not as good as agood wash wax,put it this way if fenwicks removes over winter what dose it do to your wax.Thats why i only ues afteer winter or at end of season then a good wax and wash wax inbetween.

Each spring she gets a thorough wash with Fenwicks caravan shampoo. Any black streaks get removed with Muc Off.

Then the hard bit polishing the whole caravan. I use Autoglym Resin Polish followed by Autoglym Super Resin Polish.

Thereafter throughout the year a quick wash with diluted Frenwicks shampoo and then on goes the Bobby Dazzler.

Like Dean we live in a hard water area but I haven't noticed any ill effects using Bobby Dazzler. Nor does the Fenwicks shampoo diluted remove the Autoglym polish.

I'm sure "Old Mr Fenwick" could explain the hard water aspect.

Cheers

Thank you all for the reply, Over the years I use Fenwick caravan shampoo and use Bobby Dazzier, But I do find that once you wash the van down+leather down for Bobby Dazzier to be spray on then leather again, So really it cleaning the van twice! There must be a product where you can clean the van once and it leave with a nice shine, Have tried to buy Muc Off from our caravan dealer round our area, No Luck, Thanks Trevor

Last year I commented to someone how good his 4 year old Bailey van looked, and asked him what sort of polish he used. He said that he had the van from new, and like all of his previous vans, he had never ever polished them. He just used wash and wax shampoo and sometimes leathered it afterwards. I'm going to do the same now!

I've used two products:

Smart wax- easy to apply rubs off easy and lasts a year. Smells like bubble gum

Careavan- easy to apply and remove but I haven't had it on for more than a few months though so don't know how it will last.

I wash it in Fenwicks.

Carevav is approved by Bailey and I think Swift. My handbook, Coachman, says use any good car polish.

Booobby Dazzler is not a polish ---so don't compare----don't compare----P/C tested Bobby Dazzler years ago against all the best known polishes and it came out with flying colours.Bobby Dazzler is unique----that's why companies try to emulate Fenwick's superior products. Anyway i may make a polish one day just for those who like the job.--- cheers Old Man Fenwick t

That's a fair point Trucker and you are allowed to recommend products and services that merit praise and recommendation to fellow caravanners.

The reason the James Roger might be seen on here more often than Derrick is that James isn't a banned member ;0)

Please note that I have left both posts on the forum because comments about both products have been submitted by those of us who use them.

The forum can't however allow a banned member to continue the sort of internet forum campaign to take business from an established and trusted product manufacturer that we witnessed here previously and which led to the ban in the first place.

There have now been recommendations for several products so forum members must make up their own minds.
