Which caravan??

We're on the look out for a 5-berth caravan. Anything brand new is out of the question, as seems to be anything made this century in fact as money just won't stretch to it :(

We're on the move from a tent so don't really need anything all-singing, all-dancing but does need to be clean, tidy and free from defects!

We were watching a Swift Rapide 490/5 on Ebay, but twice it has been sold from under our noses now. We like the layout in it though, with the large double bed at the front and the smaller double bed at the back.

Need something like that as none of our kids can use the bunks yet, but are still small enough to have been able to fit on the large double together.

Has anybody got any recommendations for a good starter caravan with a similar layout???

Thanks!

Ali

Hi

Our first caravan was a 1994 5 berth Swift Alloutte with the layout you describe, gas hob and grill, no oven. Worked well for us as a family, 2 adults and 3 kids. Layout is similar to the Swift Challenger already mentioned. We had it for 6 years, serviced every year and the only thing we had done was a small area of damp sorting out in the top locker and new seals on the windows. We only traded it in last year because we wanted fixed bunks for the kids.

You mention looking on an auction site, have you looked at the dealers. My sister has just bought an Eldiss 4 berth, end bathroom, with an oven, from a dealer, paid I think about
