which cover ?

can anyone reccomend a good make of caravan cover for over wintering as i have recently had to change my storage and want to prevent tree sap and the green algae that caravans seem to attract.

Hi, I bought a Pro-tec cover 3 years ago for my new (as it was then) Avondale Argente 650/6. It was fine but holes appeared in the cover on the top of the van after a year or two. Now this may have been because of birds etc. I now own a Elddis Crusader Cyclone and have bought a cover from Specialised Covers. It appears excellent. It fits brilliantly and doesn't leak like the other one. The A frame cover is definately better as it can be velcroed to the main cover giving a good seal and has a "bag" which fits over the tow hitch. Wheel covers were purchased too- excellent- stops tyres perishing from sunlight. So far, I prefer the Specialised Cover rather than Pro Tec.

I looked into covers a year ago for my new Amara and posts on this forum at that time from some members mentioned scuffing of the windows caused by the cover moving in the wind. I opted instead for Fenwick's Overwinter. It was easy to apply with the garden sprayer and was applied in October. I can honestly say that this April the caravan was still looking like new with none of the algae and dirt I had suffered from on my last van. A couple of cap fulls of their caravan cleaner in a bucket of water rinsed it off in no time. I'll do the same treatment for this winter towards the end of this month. Henry.
