Which Sat Nav system

Hello, I'm travelling to France and I'm looking for a decent Sat Nav with touch screen, post code French Road maps. Can any one suggest which system offers good all round use. Doesn't have to the dearest nor cheapest but usable and doesn't NAG

Many thanks

I bought a satnav unit a couple of years ago partly to maintain harmony with SWMBO. After some research, I chose a less well known brand/model, being a MIO 710C. To meet your requirements, this is touch screen, has the European maps including france all loaded-no additional cards needed-and the navigation from country to country is seamless.

It also has a stack of other features such as bluetooth, MP3, photo viewing, pedestrian mode, TMC etc. Even my wife asked to use it in her car, which is saying something for its usability...Ouch!

I used my Tomtom 1 in France last year & it was superb. Mine didn't come with france as standard so I had to add the map. I think you can get it with all Europe now.

Hi, we have the TOM TOM 700 and its good fo just about most places as it has built in maps.As for postcodes i am not aware that France has any that can be used , i thought it is only Holland an UK that has them , I stand to be corrected.

At the weekend we took the caravan to a family friends farm to attend their daughters wedding.

We used a Garmin Zumo 550 in the car as it is routable via a PC, that way we could avoid roads unsuitable for a caravan. We use it on our bikes but being routeable it is ideal for caravanning.

Can recommend the Navman F20, you will need to buy the french maps separtly on an SD card but it's a brilliant satnav at a very reasonable proce

Got a Tomtom one sat nav. Had it 6mths but a few days ago a red cross came on the screen it looked like the sd card was missing after several attempts I rang tomtom up and was told to download updates onto the tomtom mainly tomtom home, what a job the tomtom wouldn,t download the program and at every stage a box came up saying it needed this and that which resulted in another phone call to tomtom. In the end it was a faulty card. I was thinking if i,d known you had to download onto the tomtom I might have bought another model. Anyone else had this problem?
