which towing mirrors????

Ok I have got advise on kettles, alarms, awnings and even towbars. All advise has been followed as you guys know far more than I do at the moment.

Now its towing mirrors, I have asked about "suck it and see" mirrors and they seem to get a mixed review. My next choice is a set of Milenco Mirrors.

A flat mirror is recommended for the offside, and a convex mirror for the nearside. Is this true???

Oh and thanks for all this help by the way.

Tugster,

I changed to the Milenco Aero mirrors early last year & I must say what an improvement! hardly any vibration even at speed.

For the UK I use the convex on the drivers side & when in France switch it over to the passenger side, my reasoning for this is that I need the "wide" view on the side with more lanes so that I can see any one in the outer lanes that may be switching to lanes nearer to me, if you see what I mean, the wider your field of vision on the side that you are going to be overtaken on the better, eliminates virtually all of the blind spots on that side.

I have just changed over from Suck-it-and-See to the new Milenco Grand Aero.

I have convex on both sides and it is just like looking into a much larger version of my cars mirrors.

Judging distance etc is the same with the towing mirror as it is with the car mirror.

Very pleased with the product.

I used the clip on mirrors with straps that go around your car mirror. These are quite cheap but I found they still vibrate a bit. I changed to the Milenco universal mirror that clips to the top of the car mirror and these still vibrate!

I prefer flat mirrors as they give an actual relection so distances can be judged more easily when overtaking.

I have the suck it and see mirrors. They do vibrate and it does cause me some problems when overtaking, so much so that I sometimes don't use it and find that the Shogun's mirror is perfectly adequate.

No problem with the driver's side, probably as it's closer and the vibration not so noticeable.

I really do like the fact that I can adjust the mirrors using the car's electric mirrors and extremely quick and easy to fit when I am short of time on a Friday after work, hitching up, getting the kids loaded and away a.s.a.p..
