Im new to this game but we all love the caravanning experience apart from when we get home and have to attempt reversing the van up the slope of the drive! Does anyone have any winch ideas? I have looked into motormovers but frankly i find them too expensive,thanks
 
Hi, I bought a boat winch with 60 feet of wire rope and a hook, I also made up a plate with ball on one end and fitted the winch on the other. These plate`s with a ball can be bought from Towsure and other caravan dealers, in my garden I sunk a post for an anchor to which the winch hook was attatched. fit ball to van hitch hook to anchor and wind away. I used this method for 2 years but then invested in a Powrtouch mover, wish I`d bought on earlier.
 
I used to have a boat......1200kgs....and did the winch bit to reverse it up a sloping drive......then the winch failed one day, and the cost was over
