Coljac,

We stayed there last week, one day we had a violent thunder storm, resulting in several pitches getting flooded, our was one of them, It took three hours for,the water to drain enough for us to get out, in the end water was sucked away by a smelly industrial lorry.Make sure you ask the wardens which pitches are prone to flooding in the case of heavy rain. They are displayed on the counter,Suggested they told people when they arrived as everybody we spoke to was unaware which pitches could flood.

Stayed there about a month ago. Mobile fish and chip van on site on friday evenings until about 6:30...handy if you are arriving for a weekend. Also a seafront bistro / restaurant that you will see about 50 yds before you get to the site. Good menu but a bit pricey...depends what you want.

Chip shop with restaurant about 200yds back from the front (again you will pass on way in) - average.

Best bet for breakfast, shopping etc is to drive towards Lowestoft along bypass - first industrial estate approx 2 miles Morrisons - you'll see it from roundabout = fast and clean restaurant and good value. Pizza Hut opposite

Only pub I tried in Kessingland was near seafront about 75 yds from site. Fairly local crowd, separate games room. Several others in Kessingland high street but not tried.

Going a bit further I can recommend the Cafe in the Nicolas Everitt Park at Oulton Broad...go fully into the park...its the one with the large terrace...bigger than it looks with downstairs and upstairs dining areas as well - their lunchtime roasts are thoroughly recommended. Great views accros the broad - If you are there on a Thursday evening there is powerboat racing from 6:30.

Have a good trip - Whitehouse beach is one of my favourites
