Whitehall Spending

I see in the Daily Mail today that a further £10million is to be spent on upgrading Miss Jowell's office suite. The upgrading is to include for a multi-faith prayer room. I think that, although each to his own religous belief, this is taking matters to the extreme as a waste of public money when the country is in such a state regarding health, education, police, etc. Surely to God they should be aware of the way Joe Public feels about their spending and looking after themselves and ignoring what we the public are crying out for.

What are you worried about?

They paid a half million pound plus bill for two satellite phones lost in Iraq with no one questioning it. They described the use of the phones being on like an all day free phone box on a street somewhere in Bagdad to "Adult" phone lines!

So what's the problem with a few million on some decoration work ;-) ;-) ;-)
