who to insure with - help!!!!

Hi - we are complete novices to all of this and would appreciate the advice - who to insure with???

We have indoor storage and its an 8 month old Bailey Discovery 5 Mars. Any pearls of wisdom with regards to insurance - we are members of both the Caravan Club and The Camping and Caravan club. Thanks in advance!!!!

Hello Fiona

The best thing to do is the same as any other insurance you need. Get the numbers and ring around different companies.

We are with caravan guard the prices have been reasonable,but we've not claimed yet.

Good luck with the search

We are with the CC, not the cheapest, but in the event of a claim, no problems.

That is when cost comes into it, when you claim!!!

With the claims we have made, with the CC, the claim has been dealt with very quickly and with no hassle.

We are with E&L you pay monthly for the months you need.

i.e we cancel at the end of the season. Might not suit everybody but suits us.

Made a claim for a cracked front window a few years back, they paid up OK {

Hello Fiona,

I am sure you realise that not all insurance policies are identical, so whilst the cheapest quote is of course attractive, it is very important that you read the small print to ensure you fully understand the cover you are being offered.

Do not under estimate the need to comply with all the terms of the policy, as we read of too many caravanners (and others) who discover too late that they are not covered when they need to claim.

It is also a sad fact that some companies are more stubborn than others when it comes to paying out a claim, so here it is useful to seek recommendations from trusted friends on who has received prompt and efficient service.

Don't forget that you are a customer of the company and not a servant; so if you have a question ask it, Don't necessarily accept the first response as being gospel.
