I;am visiting friends in wigan in may any one recomend any sites close to wigan 10 mile radius must have elect. hook up.
 
Royal Umpire Touring park is not that far from wigan. Its located on the A581 Chorley to Southport road at Croston, 6 miles from J27 and 4 miles from J28 M6. Its a private park but Im told its quite good but I havn't visted it.

I have visited Royal Umpire a couple of years ago and it is a lovely site with a nice village close by and a couple of good pubs (and food) not far away.

The little cafe in the village does a mean banana split! Roz
 
If you want a good meal, "The Original Farmers Arms" and A little further towards or after Eccleston Village "The Farmers Arms" both do excellent pub grub at a reasonable price. Beers good too!!! Both are on the B5250.
