Will my awning fit?

I've got an Isabella awning which is 1100cm in size that was bought for my previous caravan. It has never been used. I've recently purchased an Adria Altea 622DP Dart that the manufacturer states will take a 1077cm awning. I'm concerned about how the excess length will be accommodated when I run the Isabella awning on the Altea. Do you think it will take it without any visible folds etc?
As a last resort, I could have the size shortened to fit by a local industrial sewing company that specialises in awning repairs, but I'm reluctant to go down that road if the awning will look reasonably OK on the Altea.

Thank you for any advice you can give me.

Best to try it out on a dummy run. Many awnings when advertised give a measurement range of the van sizes that they will fit. Don't start modifying it without a test fitting.Go on Isabella website they may give the size ranges that your awning would be suitable for.

23 cm will be a lot to deal with. Some extra can be managed by a combination of lifting the near side and spreading front and back. I have had awnings altered successfully. If you were to sell, and buy new you may well loose out financially and be better off getting it adjusted.

But give it a go first.

If you have a look for the Canvas Repair Centre at Burton on Trent, they can do alerations to awning sizes without you having the massive expense of a new one. The fact your awning is an Isabella will be very expensive to replace.

See Canvas Repair Centre - Specialised Canvas Services

We had one extended by them a few years back.

I see they have been taken over, its a Chesterfield number now. Looks like a bigger operation than it was.

We had an awning altered by that company. They are near Poolsbrook country park near Chesterfield. Not far from the M1. Very good work and reasonably priced imho. I think the Burton on Trent operation has closed.

I sent a previous awning back to Isabella for resizing, great job too.
Not sure if they still offer the service tho.

I would wait and try it when you get the caravan although it might be just a bit too long. If it does not fit you have lost nothing and you can still get it resized if you need to. If the local firm is good then I would try them as I think Isabella might be expensive.

Thank you all for your advice. I'll try the awning on the new van when the dealer puts it on site in early June ( it's coming from Slovenia) and go from there.

Try it on your new van, And then see what you think, I have seen many almost new full awning for sale on Flea Bay,
We bought a second hand caravan which came with a "starter Kit" which included a full Dorema Awning, which I used once, worth £700, I sold the awning for £100 5 years later.

LiK. As a follow up, We used our awning once and found that the hour plus to put the thing up was a pain in the bum, especially for just a weekend, then the weight of it. And also the size, we then went to lifht weight Porch awnings, we dont sit at night in the awning, as the caravan is very comfortable. If I wanted to sit in the late evenings in aa awning I wouuld buy a tent.
