Windbreaks

Are these an essential. Somebody has told us you must get a windbreak. Ive never even used one on a beach so do all you caravanners use them. Denise

Hi Denise, we take a couple of windbreaks with us all the time, we use them to shield the cadac from the wind, or to keep the dogs out of site of other dogs if there are lots on site, or just to shield us from the wind if its nice enough to sit out but a bit windy. they also come in very handy to stop kids riding bikes round your van.

Windbreaks MAY have a practical use, but as far as I have experienced they are often used to create a barrier, a canvas "keep out" - often anti social - therefore anti the ethos of caravanning!!

JimF - our awning is open to ALL visitors!

We use a couple of windbreaks too, having 4 dogs, it is much easier to keep them in one place with the help of the breaks, and stop them being very inquisitive and upsetting other people by intruding in their awning or van, especially if food can be smelled by them!!!

Rather than a "Keep Out" message, ours are definately a "Stay IN" for the dogs.

Anyone is more than welcome to battle through a Mastiff, a Bullmastiff and two Lurchers to be "friendly",,just dont complain about the slobber on your legs, or being mugged for any food you may have in your hands.
