window blind not well

hi out there, window blind lopsided. tried to retention it but there looks like a piece of thin plastic line at one end. what is it? can i repair it? do i have to replace the blind? any help would be welcome. geoff
 
Well, lets put it this way - I pulled it and wished I hadn't, it unravelled to quite a length and wouldn't go back so I took the scissors to it. The blind still went up and down though but it must serve some purpose surely?
 
the thin plastic line holds the blind into the roller

not a bad little job to refit once off and laid on a table

just dab a little superglue on end to retian when finished.
