Window Colour mis-match

I'm in the middle of a discussion on another forum about the colour of replacement windows on caravans and was interested to hear if anyone on hear has the same problem.

Several people, myself included, are noticing a clear discrepancy in the matching of the colours for replacement windows. I have two golden brown and one grey window on the front of my van. Although I haven't asked the question why the difference several people have only to be told that it will fade in a couple of months! I can tell you mine hasn't and by all accounts neither has anyone elses.

One of the obvious questions is do the windows have the same code? Well mine do! So I and others are still left asking the question how does a grey window turn golden brown? Fading I could cope with if it was brown, but change colour!

it wont, have seen on different forum,if its the same code i would be asking the manufacturer what colur the original windows were when the van was built i bet they wern't grey??????

maybe a good sunlamp might do the trick!!!!!!!! and for it to change in 2 mths ive never heard so much sh++ in all my life, just shows you what some dealers and manufacturers will stoop to

Hi Tim

I had a front window replaced on a brand new 'van as it was delivered with a scratch between the panes. The replacement window was a slightly different colour. Not enough to notice straight away, but I find it annoying as I know it's there. It would seem that windows are made in batches, and no two are exactly the same. I believe that there are specialist manufacturers out there who will produce an exact match, but it comes at a price.

The point to my posting is that the replacement is the same code and where I can cope with there being a difference in the shade of brown (fading over time, different batch etc) it's difficult for those who, like me, don't have specialised knowledge of plastics to comprehend how, for example, grey will turn to a golden brown given time!
