window leaks

On a recent trip back from Scotland, we travelled through some pretty heavy rain ( as most of us have done this summer!!) On arrival at home, we noticed two or three small pools of water on the shelf below the inside of front window. Obviously the rain had penetrated around the rubber seals, but is there any way of preventing this in the future, or do I have to buy new rubber seals. The caravan is a 2005 Sterling Belvoir ( dealer special based on the Vitesse) Any advice welcome

thanks

Hi kevin,

There hvae been one or two postings on this topic recently, relating, I think to front window seals.

If the rain is coming in between the seal and the glass, check the condition of the seals they may just need replacing (or an application of silicone grease).

If damp is getting between the seal and the caravan body, then this is a far more serious problem - this happened to me with a Lunar Stellar I once had.

Repairs would have been expensive and so we p/xed for a new caravan.

I hope it is just the seal/glass situation.Good luck,

Ron
