Window Trim

hi, have came across another part that doesn't look right to me ( this list is getting bigger week by week ), i noticed the front window ( middle of three) has the grey plastic trim which seats between the two rubber sealing strips has come away from the two top corners. the window is rounded at the corners and the plastic strip has came away about3 inches from them.

i tried to push it back in but it is brittle hard with virtually no give in it, almost impossible to re-seat it without it snapping.

so, is this trim only for decor, or does it serve a purpose for sealing as well ?

cheers in advance for any replies.

p.s. oh, and have any of you came across the same and managed to repair it, now i know its there it will always catch my eye.

You could have a look here at caravan seals & see if you can find a replacement to fit your van ?

cheers sproket, but what im asking is if it need fixed at all. it might have been like that for some time and im just noticing it. also, the top of the plastic has bubbled in places, these are also solid.

no sign of water ingress so i dont know whats caused it, looks to me like the plastic has shrunk.

Same thing happened on both our Ace Supremes. Both vans were purchased brand new and within 1st season the plastic trims appeared to have shrunk on the curved corners on a couple of the windows on both of them.

On a hot day when the plastic is soft, it is possible to push it back into place, but after a few weeks, out it pops again.

Just think it is a bad design, but doesn't seem to affect the window so I just live with it now. Was going to mention it to the dealer when the latest van went in for its 1st service but I forgot.
