Hi Graham,

I believe you can get a "jacket" for your aquaroll to stop it freezing and you should use propane rather than butane as your gas.

Otherwise you should be fine.

Graham,

Having winter caravanned for many years my number one tip would be to keep your heating on 24/7. Switching the heating off at night or during the day when you go out will cause damp and condensation. turn the heating down at night but not off. If at any time you are too warm then put a couple of windows on the night catch. It is a good idea to have a couple of windows on the night catch to assist air flow through the caravan. Helps to stop condensation.

On cold damp days do not leave the caravan door open.

When cooking always switch the extractor fan on, and leave it on for a couple of minutes after cooking again to avoid condensation.

If temp drops below freezing open kitchen cupboard doors slightly at night so that warm air can get to the water pipes to stop them freezing.

Put a cover over the aquaroll and fill it before dark. If freezing remove the pump over night and fill kettle before going to bed.

Check loo does not need emptying before it goes dark.

We prefer winter caravanning to summer.

hi, we have winter caravanned for many years in all weathers. we always wrap the aquaroll with a old coat . We always lag the pipes under the van with pipe insulation. in extreme weather conditions we use a fish tank heater in the aqua roll .make sure your gas is full and a fan heater just in case and don't forget to fill the kettle as we have had the site taps freeze up over night!Above all, enjoy it,its a great time to use the van,

We've caravanned during the winter for the past 10 years or so and Hamer's advice on heating is exactly right. We use propane all year round as it's simpler than changing in summer. We don't use the piped water system at all in winter but carrry water in a 5 litre container as it's much easier.

We also fitted a curtain over the back of the door which me think cuts draughts.
