winter caravanning in french alps

We are thinking of spending 6/8 weeks in french alps with our van any advice please. We will not be sking just enjoying the scenery and walking in the snow.

A site we can recommend is L'Escale at Le Grand Bornand.

It's about 30 minutes east of Annecy and can be booked through the CC if you wanted.

We stayed there two years ago using camping cheques and we are hoping to return in January next year.

Thanks, does it get very cold at night and how difficult is it to get to?
