Winter fridge vent covers

Is there anything 'special' about the electrolux winter fridge vent covers, or would it be okay to fashion a couple of bits of hardboard and suitable clips to achieve a much cheaper option?

Anyone done it? - Got a pattern?

I only ever use the fridge on electric hook-up if that makes a difference.
