Winter storage advice please

Hi there,
We will be taking our last break of the season in the October half term. After this, we will then 'pack away' the van til next year. We always take out all the bedding, duvet covers, duvets, pillows and store them in large stacka boxes at home. We also do the same with the crockery, pots and pans etc. This also gives us a good chance to wash it all so its clean.
We are fortuanate enough to be able to access our storage facility whenever we like so are able to make regular checks on the van over the winter months.We were just wondering if there is anything we can do to try and prevent damp?
Ideally, we would like a breathable cover, but these are just too expensive unless we see a cheap one on ebay. Even then i dont know which sort is best if there is one??

Damp is normally a result of water ingress.
If you do not have that now, there is no reason why you should suddenly develop it.
With normal winter precautions which you appear to take already, in addition to draining all water from water system and toilet and leaving taps open.

A caravan has a lot of fixed ventilation which is essential in preventing damp from taking hold.
Some people use moisture absorbers of varying kinds, from containers of salt to cat litter, but as the air is constantly changing,it really is a bit of a waste of time, although the feeling may be that it "must be doing something".

Better to park the van in a nose down attitude to allow water to run off the roof and make sure you keep the battery fully charged, preferably at home unless required for an alarm, in which case a method of keeping the batteyr charged should be considered.
