Winter storage

We bought our first van last season, an Avondale Dart, and it is now in winter storage under a breathable cover. We drained the water system, emptied the toilet flush and the thetford cassette.

I realise we will need to refill the cassette and flush before use but what do we need to do with regard to the water. Do we just connect to the aquaroll and away to go?

Hello Jay

I always fill the aqua roll and use Milton steriliser in it to flush through. Turn on the shower, wash basin and kitchen taps one by one until the water comes through normally, then turn them off. Leave the sterilising solution to clean your pipes, then flush all of the contents of the aquaroll through the taps. Flush with clean water, not forgetting to empty the waste hog, and if the system in your caravan uses one or more filters, replace them. This is because the sterilising fluid could neutralise the effectiveness of the filter(s).

Fill your aquarolls up with water and add Sterilising fluid such as Milton leave to stand for a day or so if possible then put the whole aquaroll contents through your water system in the van leave this in the water tank over night then drain off the main tank,then i use another half barrel or so to clean that,And my result is no more stale water and a very clean system.All the best,
