Thinking of trying Woodlands Park in Devon next summer. Has anyone been and what is the site like? It looks like if you stay in the park you get free entry into the Theme Park so does that mean that the rides are included or are they paid for seperately. Also are there any swimming facilities there?
Thanks.

It's a great Site, No Pool. You get use of the outside slides and climbing. Basically any thing that is not manned by staff. You do get 1 hour before every one else is aloud entry for the main attractions. Toilet blocks are good. but you are about 5 miles from Dartmouth or Totnes. Nothing in the area

Hi Daisy Moo, you will proberbly feel at home in the countryside. Only kidding

Stayed there last easter and they are very proud of there pitches, as the weather was'nt to great they towed you on and off your pitch
with there diddy tractors, but that caused a problem as there parking was quite a distance away. steep site but the pitches are level on teared areas. Oh yes and the electric (whole site) tripped regular in the evenings due to every one in there vans with heaters, kettles,TV's etc on so major over;load.
Now the good side, yes free entry into theme park with loads to do and no extra charges, everything is included. (maybe the big togoggan ride is payable as an extra but not too sure now).
They quite often have special occasions, easter egg hunt, clowns, etc etc.
Shower blocks all clean and tidy, separate family baths.
Its actually cheaper to pay for a nights pitch than to buy a family ticket, think we paid £32.00 per night and it cost brother in law £48.00 for entry on the saturday.
Now the swimming question, PLENTY of PUDDLES

Nearest pools are in Dartmouth 3 miles, Totnes 7 miles, Paignton 7 miles accross the River Dart ferry from Dartmouth.
If you read some of the reveiws on the well known reveiw site its a bit of a mixture but think most of the complaints relate to later in the year i;e summer peak when the site is at full capacity, so if you can go outside of these times think you will be ok.
Would we go again---------------------- YES!!!

We went in 2008, school hols, with daughter and grandaughter (6). Didn't think it was going to be my scene, but had a great holiday. Grandaughter made many friends and loved it. Golf club just up the road 1/4 mile, daughter used the gym there and wife and grandaughter went in the swimming pool at the golf club. Had a smashing holiday even in peak times.

stayed here for 1 week August 2009, It rained.... and rained some more,,,,, and then continued raining.

Water park and rain..... well i supose we were already wet, but to be fair.. that was not the parks fault. Although once you have been on the rides , then thats it.
Its quite a steep site and pitches are level put packed ina nd this resulted in a lot of noise especially from late night drinkers and Ber-B -Ques.
If you have young children and it rains there is nothing for them.
I remember spending a lot of time going to places and spending lots of money but again that was really down to the weather and driving everywhere.

On the whole the site was clean, there are family bathrooms but you had to que quite a while to get one. The toilet blocks had the usual gangs of teens playing around them / in them.

The road outside the park seemed to be closed on a daily basis due to accidets but again, drivers and rain dont mix that well in August.
Once youve been in the theme you park....ask your self would you want to keep going back in. There is a pleasant walk through the park however.

Would i go again with a 4 yr old and 10 yr old. NO
If the kids were older , 11 yrs and upwards i suspect that if the weather was nice we would not have seen them from morning to night for each of the 6 days we stayed there.
