Wifi here is very poor. Todays torrential rain has wiped it and Sky tv out.
Best check direct . I did see a chap in the bar bit with a dog. Everything I”ve read says dog friendly.

Looked at the Chainbridge Inns own website and it doesn’t say anything if dogs can be accommodated. But their accommodation booking puts you through to the group site, then quick as a flash you are in Hotels Wales.com and thence in to Bookings .com. So will have to ring them. Although my wife has suggested our little pub in remotest mid Wales, or the Felindre Griffin near Brecon CMHC site. The latter did a mean Burns Night, or so my wife told the day after 🥩🥃😵

Somewhere in that area there is supposed to be the oldest pub in Wales. I think it is called the Skirrid Inn and is reputed to be 900 years old? Their prices are definitely 21st century!

Know it well ! The Skirrid Inn Llanvihangel Crucorney. Infamous for hangings and the stone floors etc.
Many an artist has sold their paintings there over the years.

Back in 1986 Gillian MacDonald , a local artist had a number of her water colours up for sale in the bar. £30 bought me an original signed , “Sunrise over the Llanthony Valley”. All wrapped up in the loft .

Today I have only seen her limited edition prints for sale. Maybe I’m sitting on a Welsh Goldmine🤪

We pretty well had the site to ourselves this week . I suspect the facilities may be pressed a bit this weekend.

Without further ado I confirm the 2026 Woosiefest will take place at Pont Kemys weekend 18/19 April. No deposits required strongly recommend booking early. This is a popular place.
The adult only FSP this week was £30 per night. 4 days & night electricity £18. It was chilly and wet so we didn’t spare the heating.

We towed home via Usk onto the A449 towards Newport , M4 then M5 to J 11A, A417 to Cirencester, . A very easy route. Much easier than the A40 we used a few months ago to Brecon. Time and distance the same.

I definitely saw two people with dogs at the main bar by the log burning stove. The residential rooms are a mystery. I saw nothing indicating they actually do letting rooms! It is family run , they also own the adjacent farm , where the beef comes from.

Yes on one web search you get the same place twice, one leads to lots of Google reviews, the other via FB. Just testing for room availability in Jan Feb searches told me to contact the pub directly. It seems to be owned by a group of farmers and more importantly the various review sites Google and Trip advisor are positive.

My search was regarding dogs in accommodation which I assume is a designated area? However searches may still be inconclusive.

Surely it is less hassle to try and book a dog friendly B&B or even a AirBnB as must be quite a number in the area?

The Chainbridge Hotel has dog friendly rooms, but that is about a 3 hour drive from Pont Kemys campsite. LOL!

Current one is the Staghunters in Brendon ((Devon) which we have used a few times with and without dogs. Alternate is staying with our son, but dog is a NoNo. I will enquire at the Chainbridge Inn as it looks a nice place, but their website is infuriating to say the least

They do not have a website. On AirBnB there is a dog friendly hotel in Abergavenny and also south of the town an AirBnb cottage which looks to be nice. Sadly bedroom is upstairs so not good for us.

Thanks I’d assumed the link shown at the bottom here was theirs but it’s not. They are active on FB but gave that up when of all our family only my granddaughter was prepared to be my friend. I suspect the Chainbridge aren’t doing accommodation yet given it’s a relatively new venture No worries there’s no shortage of other options.

For my wife’s birthday in January we have decided to stay with our son in Wales and go out for a Burns Night meal.

The inn doesn’t seem to have a website, only contact seems via Facebook, or a phone not answered. I suspect they haven’t set up their accommodation side of the business yet. Plenty of other places are out there. Go on Trip Advisor and press the Inns website and you go straight to Facebook.

Belated Christmas and New Year greetings to all Woosies hidden and active,
The end of our year didn't goe well, Lady Bachuss, had to wait for a laser cleaning of an eye, in December, so we couldn't get out in the van, thankfully she could only see half of what I was drinking. Three days before Christmas, central heating pump gave up, Valiant came out next day and changed it.

Christmas Eve, youngest son was taken into Warwick hospital with Three blood clots on the return side of his brain, thankfully discharged two days later on blood thinners and powerful pain killers.

Eldest son 42, cooked a 4 kg Capon to perfection for Xmas day, but used 3 whole large Garlic heads in the cooking, surprisingly we didn't stink of garlic,

It is the weekend of 18th 19th of April 2026, many of us are staying Wednesday to Wednesday, it's open to every not just named Woosies,

We try to have a meal in the local dog friendly pub on Saturday evening, then a Jacobs table of food, ie , bring your own to share on the Sunday lunchtime.

Your time is your own, nothing commited, except maybe an late afternoon, early evening drinks, Tea, coffee wine or beer. Just a time to put forum names to actual faces.

I am hoping to hand over my Crown to the next King or Queen, to carry on the Woosie Monarchy, unless toppled by rebels to make The Woosies a Republic.
