Worktop

I am replacing the cooker and sink in our caravan but this will mean me also having to replace the kitchen worktop.

Can anyone offer me any suggestions as to where I may be able to get hold of a replacement or alternatively what materials could I use to make one up?

I've tried breakers yards but as they are all used the holes for the sink/hob are in the wrong places so they are not much use to me.

Thanks

B & Q sell normal domestic work top; this is 600mm wide, will have a finished front edge and be sold in various lengths.

Whether this is a different material to that used by caravan manufacturers I don't know; it is very heavy so they might source a lighter product.

Thanks Martin I will give them a try. If they don't do the worktop they may have something else that we need.

We did think of using domestic worktop as we have a large enough piece sat in the garage, but I think its far too heavy and much thicker than what was original in the caravan.

Thanks

The panels in our bailey are all hollow so you might be able to make a worktop from thin plywood with spacers glued in and the laminate it with formica, you can get sheet fromica from builders merchants, probably have to order it.
