As the title says, with 60mph winds and heavy rain forecast for Saturday and a good 1.5 hours drive back, would you pick up your brand new van and tow it back this Saturday?
Problem solved now, going down to do the handover tomorrow but will go back to pick up the van in the week, and if it isn't as bad as forecast tomorrow we can still take it.

ricky ...
This web site will give you an idea of how windy it is going to get during the day so then you can plan ahead if needed, as it's the gust's that cause the problems.
In the end I decided it would be okay to tow the caravan to our storage plot, I kept to the smaller A roads but apart from the odd gust the journey was uneventful and it pulled very well behind our Q5.
The other thing I was a little worried about was backing up as it had been about ten years since I last had a caravan but I suppose it is a bit like riding a bike and I put it away in its slot without any drama.
Glad you've got it sorted, I was a bit worried about the potential for damage at the dealers' between you having a handover and then collecting it. Much better to have it away on handover.
