MY CARAVAN IS AROUND 1300 KG.ALSO I HAVE SEEN THE 2.2DI AND 2.2 DCI 136 SVE,THE NISSAN DEALER TOLD ME TO GO FOR THE 2.2 SVE OR 2.2 DI AND FORGET THE TWO WHEEL DRIVE, WOULD HE BE RIGHT,OR WAS HE TRYING TO MAKE A QUICK SALE ON THE OTHER TWO CARS. THANKS MICK

Have you tried the website - http://www.whattowcar.com/ - which will calculate a 'match' between your car and caravan, and give you a score as to how good a towcar it's likely to be.

I used to have the 4X4 version of the X Trail and I found for towing that it was best to use it in the Auto drive setting as I used to get a lot of wheel spin when moving off at roundabouts. This would suggest that the 2wheel drive version might suffer from traction problems but no personal experience.
