I have just completed 12000 miles in a new X-Trail and both front tyres on the inner and outer edge are now on the legal limit. Has anyone else found this, or offer any reason?
My X-Trail documentation refers to tyre rotation in two places. One recommends rotation at 3000 miles, the other at 6000 miles. My local Nissan dealership states that they only need to be rotated when the car is serviced. 2 emails to Nissan Customer Support requesting clarification have been ignored. Confusing!I have a terrano and according to the book the tyres should be swapped front to rear every 6000 miles to stop this happening, you will probably find the front wears the outsides and the rears wear the middle, this is because of the drive being at the rear and the car steers from the front thus exerting more cornering force on the front tyre causing it to scrub the edges off.
