Yorkshire TV Reception

I thought all of the UK TV reception has now gone digital, however I noticed this in the site brochure for the CC site at Barnard Castle:

TV reception on site is poor. Site has a
TV booster system in place, giving out a
analogue signal, receiving 12 channels.

Are there still backwater places in Yorkshire with analogue signals or does the brochure need updating? πŸ™ I'm not sure if our new TV has analogue capability.

Barnard Castle is in County Durham.

Whoops, I meant Bolton Abbey, which is in Yorks. 😳 Afraid I'm a southerner so don't know northern geography, nor castles/abbeys that start with a 'B'.

Maybe Sir Gabs can help us with the Geordie lingo.
Maybe Sir Crying could be our interpreter πŸ˜›

"This address is predicted to receive a good terrestrial TV signal from theΒ BilsdaleΒ transmitter in theΒ Tyne Tees region. Your local BBC news service isΒ Look NorthΒ andΒ North East TonightΒ for ITV."

Your available channels depend on which transmitter you are receiving your television signal from.

As a local to the area the TV reception via freeview can be poor in the Wharfe valley. Most locals use digital boxes to access TV. You may also find that mobile phone reception is poor or non existant . However the scenery in this valley is excellent and several walks are easy to access from the site. Enjoy your stay in this part of the world

hi all, just like to say, Yorkshire has been digital for years, there is no analogue signal from Emley moor, I have a direct sight line to it and it transmits only in digital, also if you are north of York, and find the reception poor, switch the ariel towards the east coast, as you may get a better signal from the Bilsdale transmitter outside Scarbrough .
