We're in both it might be worth trying them for a year as previously stated and see how you feel. Its worth it to us as we use the CL's and CS's and the magazines are worth a fair bit.You dont usually have to book for C&CC rallies but have to prearrange for CC.Our insurance is with the C&CC which was a better price than anywhere else for good quality cover, also have the RAC arrival.Ferry crossings are a good price with either so over a year you may well save more than your costs.

I am sure that Parksy would not want to mislead Reg and Pat about C&CC but his post needs a little clarification. The C&CC does not run over 4000 sites in the UK. They run just over 100.

There are also around 1200 small privately owned 5 van Certificated sites, 24 run by the Forestry Commission, and the rest of the sites in the Big Sites Guide are commercial privately owned sites who pay to be listed in the Guide.

As far as which club to join; as the boss of P&O Ferries said some years ago, when asked if he preferred a Channel tunnel or a bridge: "Why either?"

I stand corrected Peter

The Camping and Caravanning Club has 4000 sites worldwide and taken from their website

'The Club has over 100, award-winning camp sites throughout the UK providing quality camping and caravanning facilities for nearly three million campers each year.

There are a further 1,200 smaller 5 van Certificated Sites which are exclusive to members, set in some of the most beautiful parts of the country.

Sorry, my bad

I could ramble on about my dislike of the C & CC which quite valid having come across it on 3 different sites but I won't except to say I forgave the first two however on the last site the warden was really obnoxious and that was the final straw.

Total waste of our money with the unfriendly club as we never used any of the sites again and wasted nine months. Nothing against the people that belong to the club as they are friendly it is just the organisation I am having a pop at.
I agree with you ,a warden last year treated me like a naught schoolboy ,I was admonished for a accident my young puppy escaped, was found by a neighbour who wasnt sure which caravanshe was from. couldnt take the dog back till I had fetched a lead.Later I saw her take her dog in the site office clearly marked no dogs allowed it was do as I say bnot as I do
