    Now here's a pretty pickle - who'll buy a 4x4 now??

Is it not about time the biased anti 4x4 brigade stopping sprouting so much parc (may have typed that in reverse). If we are to tackle polution then lets direct our efforts towards trhe biggest culprits not the easiest touch. I wonder how many of the so called anti,s use air transport and have...

    Selecting a towcar

Make a list of your requirements then start doing the research to find the vehicle that fits your needs. Whilst a vehicle may look good on paper it may not be the same to drive. For me the fun is searching and test driving various models. Web sites tend to be compiled by personal preferences,

    kia Sorento or Hyundai Terracan

Hi Colin Welcome to the Jeep club. I am sure you will not be disapointed with the Jeep and its towing abilities. We to were looking at changing our Frontera for a Sorento, but after much research and test driving we settled on the grand cherokee and have been well pleased with the choice. In...

    Which type of stabiliser?

Best stabiliser wre have had was the Bulldog 200Q blade type, however for ease of use we changed to an Alko 3004 whic is a close 2nd and easier to use.

pathfinder or grand cherokee 3.0 crd

Hi Crusader I was sure you would be impressed, you cant imagine the power or relaxed towing with this beast until you actualy drive it. The mileage on the computer is UK gallons , I have checked it by manualy calculating the consumption . Fuel consumtion for me varies between 19 - 22 towing...

    kia sorrentos

I am sure that the Sorrento will be able to tow the van, however id=f you want to compare the towing abilities then compare the torque, that should give a good indication.

any good towing with an automatic?

I have to agree with the above postings, Gearboxes are as important as engines for towing, not only do you want a powerfull robust engine, but you also want a robust gearbox. I wouldnt go back to manual for towing, the auto is great for reversing, since getting our Grand Cherokee I havent had to...

    Now here's a pretty pickle - who'll buy a 4x4 now??

How about we measure emmisions by a formula known as " tree huggers" the more tree huggers the more emmisions.

If you like the vehicle and its legal , then buy it. Why worry about the tree huggers, do they worry about you?

pathfinder or grand cherokee 3.0 crd

Hi Crusader Just got back after 1000 miles of towing from the south up to Scotland and around. The GC is awesome for towing, held 60mph using cruise control on Motorways and 50mph without any effort. Consumption averaged around 20mpg which isnt bad for a beast of this size. The Quadra drive...

    Gone

What a lot of drivle. Are we expected to believe that diue to a lot of "anti" coverage by the media it would encoutrage us to give up our green holidays by selling our van and 4x4 at a loss. We contribute a lot less emisions than the average package tour participent. Dont be fooled by the antis...

We had the electrcs fitted by the person who fitted the bar, so dont know how he did it. We opted for thre removable ( have had removeable bars on last 3 cars) it does require a bumper cut (although I think the fixed does as well). Looks realy neat and no bruised shins and bad language. The US...
