    Seasonal pitches

We are on a seasonal pitch. The cost is the equivalent to two nights per week including electric (often metered and charged separately.) Seems fair enough. My sense is that most sites have lengthy waiting lists for seasonal pitches. And I think there are regulations preventing 365 day occupancy...

Awnings and wind; take them down or don't put them up

It depends on how well they are put up and pegged down. Dont let the wind get inside and turn the thing into a parachute. Double peg the corners. Have storm straps that attach to the frame and also keep the canvas down - the Isabella ones are excellent for that. Any saggy roofs will let rain...

Cadac - Are They Really The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread?

Ive got one. Its not a BBQ at all. You dont get a BBQ flavour. Its just a gas powered grill that you use outdoors. Nothing special despite what fans say. You can get the same effect with a frying pan or a griddle pan and your cooker. Easier to wash up a pan too,

    Garmin Basecamp software

Havine struggled with Basecamp, I installed Garmins earlier software Mapsource. It is so much simpler to use. Otheclive is dead right about motorway lanes. Heres a link for Mapsource https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209

    Awnings

First rule of awnings is to take it gently. Sort out the poles first and lay them on the ground near where they will be used - side poles at the side etc. There are some brilliant Youtube videos, like this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIMc2BdCUrk I know its for Isabella, but they...

    Dish washing on caravan site.

We do ours in the caravan and only take really dirty pots to the site facility. Then we balance them in our hands. Never takes crockery or cutlery to the site pot-wash.

    Storm Strap Recommendations

If you mean throwing a strap right across over the top of the awning, that is a good way to wear away the fabric ...... thats why most straps are attached to the front three poles to hold them down, its pretty standard. Thats what we do on our seasonal site in windy Snowdonia. Most straps are...

    Thetford c250

I replaced my board and wiped it over with a bit of ACF50 sprayed onto a rag. I use it on my motorbike to keep corrosion at bay, its brilliant stuff. [url=http://http://www.acf-50.co.uk/]

    Awning size

You might not want the awning rubbing against the windows and marking them. So better to find tyhe best measurement that avoids that happening.
