Getting onto the Channel Tunnel Trains?

Bit of a horror story from myself regarding going on the shuttle two years ago. I was booked on a 9.50 am service and was then given the 'good news' that I was going to be sent on a train seven minutes earlier. I was going to be rearmost vehicle on that train and made my way down onto the train...

VAT changes for storage sites from October

My storage company have written to me advising that VAT will now have to be charged on storage fees from 1st October as a result of this year's budget. Was anyone else aware that this had happened. Unfortunately it adds a fair bit to the 'annual overheads' of caravanning.

    Sites near Dunkerque

We came back from Dunkirk on Sunday and stayed the night before in Camping Jeugstadion in Ypres. This was only forty miles away from the port and under an hour's journey. It's not much of a deviation from the route of the A25 motorway from Lille. A very good site and within easy walking...

    DFDS Dunkirk Address

Came back through Dunkirk on Sunday ( the port is at Loon-Plage) and was thrown by the new access road flyover. Car Ferry is signposted from a number of miles away I always enter / leave the port via the D601 to fuel up at the Auchan store which is just off junction 54 of the A16 coastal...

    Les Castels- Dordogne

We,ve been down to Sarlat in the dordogne for the last two years and can recommend Camping Perieres there - you can walk down into town from the site. I came back one year on the Chartres/ Rouen route and would also recommend it.

    Commons Wood CC site

Thanks David for your comments - from what I can see it's the same distance to both Hatfield and Welwyn stations. We'll decide what we do when we get up there now. Carwyn

    10 MINUTES TO A TOWN

Camping les Perieres at Sarlat - le - Canade in the Dordogne - you can easily walk into town in ten minutes but it's a little bit longer back uphill. I think it's the only campsite in Sarlat that is walkable into town. Also stayed at Camping Touristique de Gien in the Loiret region on the...

    Commons Wood CC site

Just booked this site for half term and intend to travel into London Kings Cross every day coming back late some nights after shows. Has anybody stayed here and done the same and can advise on whether it's best to get a bus to train station at Hatfield or to drive and park there. I've priced up...

Anyone been to Coed-Y-Llwyn CC site

We stayed at Coed y Llwyn for eight nights this time last year. Usual high Caravan Club standard and you get different viepoints from different areas of the site - we chose an area overlooking a farm, there's another section with mountain views but some areas only have views of the trees around...

    land rover discovery

Jonny - I owned an 06 model year Disco3 for three years and would concur with Nigel's views above. There's lots of things to look out for such as EGR valves, electronic park brake and suspension bushes. A most excellent forum to look at is disco3.co.uk. . I've bought a Discovery 4 now as nothing...

    Detachable Discovery Tow Hook

Had a Disco 3 and 4 for over four years and no issues with the detachable tow bar which I carried over from one to the other. There's a wonderful form called disco3.co.uk which well worth joining if you haven't already.

    DORDOGNE & VENDEE

We stayed at Les Ecuriels in Jard sur Mer in Vendee two summers ago and was very pleasant. Last year we did Les Perrieres at Sarlat-le-Caneda in Dordogne. Very nice campsite from which you could walk into the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat from.

    Sites in London?

We've stayed at Crystal Palace three years running during Autumn half term and it;s a tidy site to usual CC standards. You've got quite a few choiced on how to get in to Central London though - number 3 bus straight through to Oxford Circus or you can get off on to the tube at Brixton or train...
