    Sheffield to Fort William

Have just done North Shields to Fort William in 5 3/4 hours with a stop for the dog. Not sure how much further away is Sheffield but the drive was not a chore, and I do all the driving. Hope this helps. Which site are you staying at? Fort William is a lovely area to visit.

Thank you every one for your advice on getting to Fort William. In the end I borrowed the Sat Nav and went David's way and it was brilliant. 5 hours 45 mins with a stop for the dog to have a wee.

Newcastle to Fort William (Friday morning early)

Have had conflicting advice on which route to take. What you the forum recommend. Tomtom says up the A1, through Edinburgh and across. Other route would be A60 to Carlisle up past Glasgow and then up to Fort William. Distance is pretty much the same as is time. I will be towing a folding...

Looking at the CC site in Fort William or the CC&C site, Thetford Forest, in Norfolk...

    Squeaky brakes

I have an Astra 1.6 CD and used to tow a caravan but now have a Pennine Pullman. The problem I have is that if I have to put more than a slightest pressure on the brakes there is an almighty screech. This does not happen without the van/camper on the back. Any ideas? First outing last...
