Talking of discounts, never having bought anything at the NEC exhibition, I was wondering how common is it to be able to secure a good price on items ? ( Shock absorbers and Kampa awning come to mind) Any opinions/experiences out there?

I'm still amazed that a cream bun costs 18 bob! I've mentally converted back to £ s d ever since we changed over 45 years ago. (But then again I am 80!)

It's well worth checking the plastic casing of the pressure switch very carefully; I had a similar problem with my pump (Flo-Jet) and found a minute crack in the moulding, allowing drop in pressure and therefore pump running. Best of luck.

I must be brainless then! I belong to neither club as they don't have many fully serviced pitches on offer. Unfortunately my elderly bones preclude me from lugging water about !! I used to do so forty years ago but went the "lazy route" several years ago. As you rightly say, it's what suits...

There is also a neat way to make sure the skirt remains tensioned and not "saggy" : At the top of each end,(about an inch in) fit a plastic eyelet (available from accessory stores). From these link a bungee to an awning peg set a foot or so from the end of skirt or wherever gives a good tension...

I'm considering buying a solar panel to keep my battery topped up whilst in storage. The one I am interested in has a 10w rated output: will I need a regulator to protect the battery? The battery is a 115 Ah leisure battery. Comments and opinions much appreciated, thanks. Derek B

I think I agree: I remove over a pint of water when I use my home made pressurising device. I had never bothered before but now would rather the water be removed than left to stagnate...apart from any risk of freezing. Don't know that I would have bothered if I were paying £40 ish for it though...

Also in the article on the Major 4SB, in the text it speaks of a "three burner gas hob with electric hotplate" whilst in the summing up it only mentions three burner hob. The latter , I think, is the case. Also not mentioned is the fact that the shower is not plastic lined. Seems like a decent...

It seems that the pressure switch casing may be cracked: this would make the pump run intermittently. It's quite an easy job to replace it; I changed one on site in France. Drain down the water and then be sure to place a towel or similar beneath the pump before disconnecting the pipework. Also...
