12 volt in line fuse for fridge, need some help

As long as you use the same value fuse why not take out that fuse and fit a more reliable type of fuse somewhere more accessible in the cable run. The fuse is probably there for 2 reasons - in case there is a fault in the fridge or fridge wiring and as over voltage protection for the fridge...

    awning lighting

We have just swapped the awning/external light for a G4 LED light - they have to be the flat type on ours to shine in the right direction. You would need to check to see what type you have. Light is slightly less but not a cold colour. We bought ours here...

    Leisure battery testing - how?

12.45v seems low for 75% charge perhaps it is 75% discharge. We do a lot of rallies use LED lights and have the TV on for up to 8 hrs and a 110Ah battery will comfortably last a weekend. General rule for us is avoid using anything on battery that generates heat or uses fans - i.e blower...

This may be a silly question but surely the seller should have or be able to get the keys - otherwise how could they have used it?

TV power - 230v ac or 12v dc: does it matter

Ditto - Caravan 12V supply may also carry interference or spikes from pumps etc. If available we plug it into the mains but notice no difference on 12V. One less transformer to carry though if you remain on 12V.

    Awning lighting

Go into a builders merchants or car maintenance shop and ask for a rechargeable LED worklight - comes with hooks to hang it, does not need a permanent cable feed, is very robust and will not run your van battery flat (2-5 Watts), also useful for nighttime roadside repairs etc. Ours comes with 2...

    Advice on Cadac please

We just use tissue and a plastic spatula, if you heat the whole thing up a little first the grease comes off easily.

    running van on gas !

We do lots of non EHU rallies and just leave the water heater on, I would say it seems to use no more gas than the fridge. Once they have done the initial job they seem to run on the equivalent of a pilot light. We find it is the room heater that really uses the gas - and battery if you use...

Quantock Orchard vs Stowford Farm Meadows

Quantock is a quiet site with no entertainment, there is a swimming pool and games room. We like the area and the site although not sure I would like to pitch there year round. Have not been to Stowford although I know the area and there is plenty to see in the within a few miles of the site...

Mmetal tyre valve caps - don't use them

Just having great fun trying to remove these from the van, 4 or 5 sprays of wd40 over a period of weeks and have only managed to get one of using molegrips and pliers. They sort of weld themselves to the metal of the valve. My advice and also that of the local tyre depot - stick to plastic.
