    TOW BAR NOISE! Normal??

Ray It may be that your hitch doesn't groan BECAUSE you haven't cleaned it and there is insufficient friction to stabilise properly. To anyone fitting new pads, do read the Alko instructions as the pads need shims adding/removing to ensure the correct pressure on the ball. Mike

Is the green LED lit on the dial? If not, it's either lack of power or the PCB needs replacing. Talk to Gary at Arc Systems. Mike

    Truma Temp Sensor Position

Ray That may well work very well for your home but how many direct air vents are installed in your home compared to the cubic volume? Have a look at the vents in a typical caravan. I have fitted an Arc Systems sensor to the gas thermostat and it transformed the heating in our Eccles Onyx...

    Windows not sealing

It could be that the windows have dropped from the hinge slightly. Have a look to see that they are fully home in the hinge. If not, you may need to remove the windows to fix them. Mike

    car stereo

The chassis of a caravan is not used as an earth in the same way it is on a car. You may find that there is a lighting circuit nearby that you can pick up the +ve and -ve power from or you could run them from the battery - don't forget to put a fuse in line. Mike

    heating system Abi Nightstar

It sounds like a problem with the non-return valve on the Cascade water heater. Send a mail to Gary at Arc Systems (have a look at his website for Carver manuals) as he is the expert on Carver heating. Mike

    Fuse

It depends upon how much current you are going to draw. Is the fuse between the two batteries or after the 'downstream' battery? If you are using a motormover, the cable should be heavy enough to handle 100amps. A standard supply side battery fuse is usually 20A. Mike

    towbar bolt help :-(

Do the bolts on your towbar run across the car rather than fore and aft? If so, you may have a swan-neck towball fitted. If this is the case you will need a swan-neck stabiliser bracket. Mike

Control knob for fan on Truma

Check that both ends of the cable are fully plugged in. Try the fan on full setting and waggle the Auto-Off-Manual switch. If it starts to work, give it a spray with electrical cleaner. Mike

Towing with a hitchlock in place.

My understanding is that the Alko hitchlock is designed to be used whilst towing and so does not present a mechanical problem. I suspect that there are more incidents of caravans been stolen from M/Way service areas than there are times when the emergency services need the hitch off in a hurry...
