12 volt electrics not working ??

been away for 2 weeks using only 240 volts due to 12 volt down..zig nit indicates battery normal green and also displays red light indicating low battery, it gets better the green light starts flashing intime with clicking sound coming from the transformer underseat(powerpac)green light there with red on also but this is the source of the clicking the red light indicates output tripping. i switched the powerrpac off for several hours switched the system on everything was ok then after several hours went back to the same fault. eventually turned it off again due to the heat being produced from the transformer and the battery(disconnected battery totally)the battery has been in the van since i got it 5 years ago. i suspect the battery is done looking to see if anyone can shed light on the transformer being knackered also....cheers inadvance for replys

It sounds very much like th ebattery has a defective cell or cells, which the charger cannot cope with and is overheating.

Also many caravans must only be used with a battery in circuit.

I woul dget a new battery and hopefully you have not caused permanent damage to the power supply, or it may mean a new one of those too.
