Duggie,

Don't know the exact set up with your van but do know that on a previous van of mine there was an inline fuse just outside the battery box. The reason I remember this is because when the van was being serviced there was an electric fault and the engineer/electrician told me he'd had a job locating the fuse. It had been routed underneath the box when the van was being built. Suggest you trail the cable from where it leaves the box and see what you can find.

HI! Rob-T thanks 4 your prompt reply tried every where for fuse but not under the battery box, it sits on a bit of foam but will try to remove it then wires go behind fridge to the unit unless the unit has gone do they have a printed circuit built into them then i will have to get new one don,t know how it has blown if that is the problem.

cheers again Duggie

Hi Douglas,

Depending on which charger you have fitted, there is a fuse on the rear. If you can send me your chassis number, I can send you a photo of the fuse location, which would be the best place to start.

Thanks,

Ash

Ash Big thanks 4 your reply caravan has gone to dealer today 4 its 2nd service so he should find this fault allong with some other ones .battery charger over charged the battery (17.5V)last september ,charger and fusebox replaced no problems with that BUT dealer did not replace battery (battery not holding charge ) should he replace battery free of charge or do Swift replace due to faulty charger.causing the fault in the firstplace !! where do i stand on that one !! lastnight switched on Battery charger and bang no 12v system so must have blown the fuse that you are on about.will wait and see what the dealer has to say after the service .Again Ash thanks for your prompt reply
