Thinking of buying another car with a towbar fitted with only a 12N.

Is a 12S really necessary? Can I manage without and what are the consequences?
 
12S allows you to use the fridge while travelling, also charges up your van battery. I've just wired mine up and had problems with the relay but all sorted now. Before hand I just left it disconnected as there was nothing connected at the car end!

Depends on whether you need the fridge on while on your on the way/way back from site I suppose.
 
Its not hard to wire in a 12S anyway!

Can you wire a relay, make connections to the battery & find something that's switched on with the ignition?
