12V and Aeriel Socket fault.

We had a few days away this last week, just to check things out really? Our Cello TV wouldn't work, at least not on the usual aeriel socket? Used the other socket just around the corner and all was well. Bought a new socket and fitted it today, still not working, TV says No Signal? Is there a way of checking a Aeriel cable, continuity or something? I will strip the fitting off the cable but thought I'd ask for advice on here first? Thank you!

Check how many outputs have cables attached on the aerial amp and that they are all tight. If nothing wrong disconnect the cable marked for your non-functioning socket and make sure the centre core is still good - this assumes all connectors are screw-on F-type.
If you have a multimeter you can check continuity from amp connection to TV presentation on the centre core and the outer - although there will be a lot more copper in the outer so it is unlikely to fail.
The other check is to make sure the final cable or cables are not short circuit.

I'll get on that tomorrow, cheers Woodentop!

At that price might buy one that a bargain 👍
I stay in a old stone built cottage surrounded by hills, and got a quote for a external aerial to supply the bedroom. it was £240. Bought one of these and the picture i get is crystal clear, well worth £5, also take it with me in the van and works great. Being magnetic it can stick to motor home roofs with great success.
