12v drill Li-ion battery suitable for steadies

Lidl have a 12v Li-ion drill that will be suitable for winding the steadies up or down & removing your screw pegs

Sproket, over the years I've had numerous "cheapie" cordless drills, of varying makes, and all of them have been very short-lived. (a year or less) Five years ago I bit the bullet and bought a Sealey 24v, discounted from £125 to £85. Still got it, still going well.

We have the same issue. Next time we will buy a known brand name so that hopefully it will last and secondly spares like a battery will be available. Problem is battery do not last long as you are not constantly recharging them!

Same here as to having numerous cheapie drills over the years.......

I have a 10.8v Li-ion Bosch that i use for the van but people won't pay the money for the drill @ nearly £122 now, but last time these were on offer i bought one to try & for £29.00 it is well worth it with the Li-ion Battery & the three year warranty

,it copes with the steadies & the screw pegs with ease, it is only in the last couple of years that the Li-ion tecnology has come down in price, this is not the same as a old Ni-cad battery drill that can develop memory Memory effect when this happens its somtimes cheaper to buy a new drill......

Where as the Lithium-ion battery does not suffer that fate.........

You do not have that problem with Li-ion batterys

A few months ago I treated myself to an Axion drill & torch kit from Axminster power tools. The 10.8 volt drill has plenty of torque in low gear for corner steadies and has a built in light to illuminate the steady adapter/driver. The LED torch has a bright main beam and a useful side-light/lantern facility. Comes with charger, two 1.3Ah Li-Ion batteries and kit bag. Can thoroughly recommend it. Shame its now gone up to £60.

We brought a cheap cordless from Aldi 3 years ago, to keep in the van... Still going strong, plenty power to wind the steadies and never let me down..

A few months ago Screwfix had an offer on Hitachi 18 V cordless drills with two 1.5 amp hour li-on batteries for £99.95
I bought 2 and they are excellent

i don't think it comes with a battery as the ad offers a second battery at £39.99 when you buy a battery with the drill. If that is the case the price isn't the bargain it first seems.

The drill does comes with a battery, but if you add a second battery as well the second battery will cost £39.99 instead of £79.99

Yes I now know what it says in the spec but when I clicked on the link in the above post the screwfix 'headline' was as I have quoted above, that's what led me to say that it didn't appear to have a battery in the £99 advertised price. Since I already have a couple of Bosch LioH drills with steel gears I wasn't interested in reading the Screwfix Makita spec.
